Manchester United are confident of completing contract negotiations star forward Marcus Rashford according to reports.
Both parties have been in negotiations in the past few months without any breakthrough. There had been reports that the player was demanding a wage offer of £300,0000 a week. according to latest reports, the Red Devils have made major headway in the negotiations.
Manchester United have offered the forward a new wage worth £175,000 a week which appears to be accepted by the forward.
Rashford is regarded as one of the best young forwards in the game and has been a major player for the team since his breakthrough year in 2016. During this time he has continued the tradition of the club producing quality strikers.
He is regarded as a pacy forward with an eye for goal and also capable of playing in the wide positions. The 21-year-old existing contract was set to expire next season which has kept several clubs on alert.
It is understood that Barcelona was among the clubs interested in the forward but Rashford is keen on remaining at his boyhood club.
The England forward is set to be the focal point of the attack next season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
From all indications, it remains a matter of when the announcement would be made. The 21-year-old would have to step up next season and fulfill the potentials of developing into a world-class forward.
Manchester United have seen several world-class strikers play for the team in the past decade including Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Robin Van Persie and DimitarBerbatov. Rashford has scored 45 goals in 170 matches for the Red Devils.
Manchester United have been active this summer with the arrivals of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The club are still looking to add more players as they rebuild ahead of next season.
